"Towards a bright future" DN 21/1/06
A Tajphoon Tivoli production cannot be compared to anything else.
The legendary performance-group that, under the 80´s and 90´s, baffled audiences not only in Gothenburg, but a large part of Europe as well, are back with a production that unites the bright future for us all, with a variety of styles; punk jazz, clownery, mime, film, teater, dance and more.
As a spectator, you have no idea what´s going to happen from one moment to the next.. The show has neither beginning nor end and absolutly no director, rather, it seems, that their ideas, associations and suggestions are contagious and seem to spread among the particpants.
There is no dialogue and rarely any lines…It is particularly fascinating how a group with such a fragmented action line is able to build up atmospheres and …yes… tell stories with so few words!
It is difficult to explain how they do all this but let me give you a clue … picture a word and foto collage of Jan Stenmark ,lucy ball housewives and Satre brooding engineers from the 1950´s… mild madness and insanity come to life… measuring exisistence in meters and erotik duet dances with an electric beaters and an iron. All this ,accompaned by music and film, soon convinces you that this is not a show you can compare to any other but a show you´d just love to see again!

"Afterwards, I could breath freely." GP 19/11/06
Tajphoon Tivoli play seriously.
This is live art to experience and not to reflect over.
It would be an understatement to say that performance ensemble TT can only smell the freedom of an artist they devour it, mangle styles, play with widely separate forms of artistic expression apparently at ease with growing just that right rare herb in culture.
Plenty of humor, great talent, sharp in details but blurry in form
Kylén absurdism moves towards surrealism but at the same time he seems to comment on those false judgements we tend to make that keep us distant from each other.
The five members play under a free flag.
Musician steer more and more Jonny and Henrik Wartel sit on the floor among wind and percussion instruments and spice up fri-jazz with arabic music.
Karin Flodhammar´ss films roll on the screen as visual poetry especially impressing is the way she is able to paint her movies onto her photographs.
What Michele Collins´s action is isn´st easy to explain but whatever she does becomes interesting and intensively erotic She tap dances, vacuum cleans, juggles with dust mops and wails the blues.
Tajphoon Tivoli denies narrow- mindedness ,makes uncertain uncertainty.
It may sound crazy but afterwards I could breathe freely.
